Robert Ellis is on the move; we caught up with the singer-songwriter in Nashville following his time spent in New York City.

“It was something else being in that sprawling, opulent apartment [in New York City,]” remembers Ellis. “I loved that pink couch.”

While he’s on the road, Ellis experiences all types of venues, and whether it’s an intimate club or the light-filled interior of a loft in Tribeca, he misses his personal creative space. “It’s a small place,” laughs Ellis. “I miss it though. I have a lot of comfort there; I have my coffee and I get into the groove. It’s inevitable that the space you’re in changes you – you just play and write differently.”
